The moon shone brightly through the clouds, casting a dim light into the otherwise pitch black prison cell. The rays of light leaked through a small one by two foot window with thick steel bars protruding through it vertically, meant to keep the captive inside the cell. The dungeon was well kept overall when it was free of prisoners. Now though, small splatters of dark blood trailed over the floor and shined with a wet luster in the dim light. The room was quite barren other than an uncomfortable slab of stone against the corner of two walls that was supposed to be a bed.
Loki sat on the edge of the slab of white marble rock, his arms resting on his knees, wrists bound together by a foot long steel chain, his head down and his mouth gagged with a similar metal device. Faded green eyes went in and out of focus several times as he stared at the floor, nothing running through his mind. Two long, painful days ago he and Thor had returned to Asgard, against Loki's will. The trial had been short; a list of Loki's crimes was given, as well as his punishment: To be sentenced to death in five days. He would only see the bland light of three more days until he would be killed.
Every six hours a guard would bring Loki food, a small ration of the leftovers from celebrations. His gag would be removed for only thirty minutes after the food was brought to give him time to eat. His stomach would always grumble and protest, as if trying to coax Loki into standing and going to the food to fill his stomach. He never did, though. He felt no need to eat. There was no point in it; anyhow, if he was going to be killed in three days, he was as good as dead now.
After half an hour, the guard would return and replace his gag, taking away a full plate of cold untouched food. Loki looked up, staring at the image of the moon sliced into thirds by the bars in the window. The words shouted by his adopted father of his soon to be death rang in Loki's ears. Thor had shouted, "No!" and was restrained by several guards as Loki had watched on his knees in front of the throne, completely stripped of his sceptre and armor and only wearing a black sleeveless t-shirt, his green leather pants and brown leather boots. Two guards slid their hands under his arms and walked him to the cell, tossing him inside and locking the door before leaving.
Loki lay back on the marble slab and stared at the roof, his heart torn in two. The mental pain he had endured was worse than the physical pain one thousand fold. His eyes burned with the need to cry, and yet no tears came. He had become too cold to shed tears. His throat burned, raw and hoarse from the lack of water. Eventually, Loki fell into a deep and pained sleep filled with nightmares of the past day's events.

Loki awoke with a start, sitting up quickly. His body was covered in cold sweat that plastered his shirt to his skin. He wiped his brow with the back of one hand, letting out a mental sigh since he couldn't do so physically. Nightmares of Thor slicing open Loki's stomach and ripping out his intestines had flooded his dreams. The creaking of the dungeon door sounded throughout the room, and slow heavy footsteps growing louder as they approached. Thor stopped at Loki's cell, his hands curling around the long metal bars of the door, his golden eyes falling on his brother. Thor's lips moved, and Loki thought he heart Thor whispers his name, but he couldn't be sure.
Loki stood and walked over to the door slowly, standing just out of Thor's reach. His brother wore his gleaming armor and red cape, the God of Thunder in all his glory. Thor's eyes were soft as he looked his brother over, his slim figure and narrow cheek bones, his black hair dishevelled, small strands fallen lose against his forehead. "Brother..." Thor's voice was barely above a whisper. It hurt him so, to look at Loki in such a broken state. 'What is it you want, Thor?' Loki spoke in his mind, wishing he could say the words aloud. His gloomy emerald eyes showed none of their previous light. Only sorrow and a deep down hatred. Thor produced a key from his pocket, sliding it into the lock and opening the cell door with a creak. "I'm here to rescue you, brother."

3: Children
Loki sighed, tucking his legs up a little further on the soft leather sofa. Today was the anniversary of Jormungandr's birth, and he ached to see him. However, they still had debriefing with the angry one to go through, before they would be allowed to part and go their separate ways. Thor had agreed to keep to himself where they would be travelling this evening, and for that Loki was glad. He was in no way ashamed oh his children, let that be known, but he was afraid that others would shun them, and fear them as Odin did. He felt tears prick at the backs of his eyes as he thought of those children Odin had more completely taken f

As they approached the doors of the infirmary, several of the repentant Avengers shifted uncomfortably. What Charlie had said had really hit home for them, and he was right. They really did have a lot to thank Loki for, and to apologise for. The Avengers, now including Loki, were meant to be a team, and they hadn't acted like one. They had excluded Loki based on past impressions, and refused to acknowledge the qualities and skills he brought to the team, and for that, they were ashamed.
The five Avengers stopped just outside the Infirmary doors, not wanting to intrude if there was a family moment going on. Tony had taken Charlie to bed short

1: Fear
The windows shook as thunder rattled the tower. The wind howled and the sky was dark, clouds a deep grey as the storm brewed between them. Tony sighed as thunder rolled again, resigning himself to not getting any work done this afternoon. If the thunder were Thor's doing, he would've sent the guy to Yoga or something to calm down, or off to smash some shit with the Hulk, but Thor was away in Asgard, visiting his mother for the first time in a few months. Loki had been forbidden from travelling, having only recently recovered from a severe injury, gained during a fight with Doctor Doom, and it was to find the sulking God that Tony was
